What this policy covers
Daraneli Yoga Studio collects personal information from people who book classes, purchase memberships or send us a message through this website. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can ask us to do about it.
The studio is based at 60 Cremorne Street, Cremorne VIC 3121. If anything on this page is unclear, email daraneli@hotmail.com and a studio manager will reply.
What we collect
We keep the list short because we do not want to hold information we cannot look after properly. The things we collect are:
- Booking details: your name, email address, phone number, the class you chose and the date you booked.
- Membership records: the type of membership or pass you hold, the date it started, and the payment dates attached to it.
- Health notes you choose to share: if you tell a teacher about an injury, a pregnancy or a surgery, we write a short note on your file so the next teacher does not have to ask you again.
- Website activity: pages you visited on this site, the browser you used and the time of your visit. This data is not linked back to your name.
We do not collect payment card numbers. Card payments go through our payment provider and the studio never sees the full number.
How we use your information
The main reason we hold your details is to confirm bookings and keep your membership running. Beyond that we use your contact details to:
- Send a confirmation when you book a class
- Let you know if a teacher is unwell and a session has moved
- Reply when you ask us a question by email or through this website
- Send occasional studio news, if you have opted into that list
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers. If you have opted into our newsletter you can leave it with one click at the bottom of any email.
Who we share it with
A small number of outside services handle parts of the studio for us. They only see what they need for their job.
- Booking software: stores your bookings and membership records.
- Payment processor: charges your card and holds the transaction record.
- Email provider: delivers booking confirmations and studio news.
We will hand over information to police or a government agency if we are legally required to do so. That has not happened in the time the studio has been open.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
Booking records stay on file for seven years because Australian tax rules require us to keep them. Health notes you have shared with a teacher are deleted two years after your last visit. Website analytics data is kept for fourteen months and then removed.
Access to your file is limited to studio staff and is password protected. We do not store information on shared drives or unencrypted laptops.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete what we are not required to keep. Send the request to daraneli@hotmail.com and we will answer within thirty days.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. We would rather hear from you first so we can fix it.
